Signs that your Skin is Dehydrated

Tightness - Even after moisturizing, dehydrated skin can feel tight and uncomfortable. This sensation is particularly noticeable after cleansing.

Dullness - Dehydrated skin often lacks radiance and can appear dull. The skin may lose its natural glow and look flat due to the lack of moisture.

Increased sensitivity - When your skin is dehydrated, its barrier function is compromised, leading to increased sensitivity. This might result in more frequent occurrences of irritation and redness.

Fine lines + wrinkles - Dehydration can cause fine lines and wrinkles to appear more pronounced. The skin may show signs of premature aging because it lacks the plumpness that adequate hydration provides.

Rough texture - The skin may feel rough to the touch due to the flakiness and micro-cracks that develop when it is dehydrated.

Itchiness - Lack of moisture can make the skin feel itchy, which is exacerbated by the impaired barrier function.

Flakiness or peeling - Dry patches or peeling are common indicators of dehydrated skin. The outer layer of skin might begin to flake off due to the lack of adequate hydration.

Increased oil production - Surprisingly, dehydrated skin may produce more oil. The skin often ramps up oil production to compensate for the lack of moisture, which can lead to an oily complexion and potential breakouts.

Skin that absorbs moisturizer quickly - If your skin absorbs moisturizer almost instantly, it could be a sign that it is desperately seeking moisture.
