What are lip fillers?
Lip fillers are a type of dermal filler that are injected into the lips to make them look fuller and plumper. Lip filler is a gel form of hyaluronic acid that is injected into your lips to help you achieve a plump, perfect pout. Sometimes it can also be used for hydration rather than really augmenting the lips. It can really be much more versatile than most people think!
What are the benefits of lip filler?
As we age, we also naturally lose volume, and lip filler can help restore that along with diminishing fine lines, laugh lines and other signs of aging. Lip filler can also help you achieve your desired volume and hydrate your lips.
How long does lip filler last?
The longevity of lip filler varies patient to patient, but typically these injections last 6-12 months. Every body breaks down lip filler at different rates, and some lip fillers are just able to last longer than others.
Typically, we see patients back around 6-9 months after their first treatment, then after a few sessions, we can space them out to 9-12 months.
How many syringes do I need for my lips?
This varies according to your desired look, but usually one syringe is enough for most people to start with, as you will get enhancement on lips while still maintaining a natural appearance.
Does lip filler hurt?
To put it simply, everyone has a different degree of pain tolerance. We will prepare you for treatment by applying a topical numbing cream to your lips. The dermal filler used also contains an anaesthetic for added numbing effect so you can have your desired results with the least pain possible.
What to expect at your appointment?
You will start with a consultation where you and your provider will work together to decide on the appropriate filler treatment needed to meet your lip goals. After numbing and a few brief injections, you will have the perfect pout!
When will you see results?
Lip filler gives you instant results! It is common and expected to have swelling, bruising and tender lips for a few days following your treatment. Please give this two weeks for complete resolution of the bruising and swelling.
